Green Pastures is an RCVS accreditated training practice with a wide range of services and high quality equipment. Listed below is a brief description of the services we provide, if you have any queries please dont hesitate to call.
VET CONSULTATIONS
We have 4 vets at Green Pastures with consultations available between 8.30am - 7.15pm. Consultations are by apointment only - please telephone and we will arrange a time which is convenient for you. In an emergency please phone ahead first and will make arrangements for you and your pet to be seen urgently.
NURSE CLINICS
Our nurses provide a wide range on clincs 7 days a week. They can prodvide advice on any healthcare issues, we run special clinics such as obesity and also carry out tasks from emptying anal glands to giving wormers. please make an appointment to see a qualified nurse.
PHS
We run a scheme called the 'Preventative Health Scheme' which offers clients a different way in paying for thier pets routine treatments. We offer a variety of plans for puppies, kittens, cats, dogs and rabbits. Each plan has listed what it provides and allows the owner to pay monthly by direct debit or a one off yearly payment. Both of these methods of payment mean a saving for you the client, compared to making payments as you go along. Please ask a member of staff for a leaflet with more details or to set up a plan.
HOME VISITS
We are able to come to your home for an added charge if you are unable to get to us or would rather your pet is seen at home. We have an animal ambulance that we can bring your pet back to Green Pastures in if we need to.
HOSPITALISATION
We pride ourselves on our high standard of patient care. We now have 4 separate hospital wards which are the kennels, cattery, rabbit ward and isolation. This ensures your pet is under minimal stress while staying with us and contagious animals are kept in a seperate area. We have a vet and nurse available 24/7 to care for your pet. The vets check animals and have ward rounds with the nurse at least twice daily. The nurses care for your pet day and night. We have the facilities to provide continuous nursing care if your pet should need it.
SURGERY
Our vets are skilled surgeons and all enjoy operating. They perform routine neutering procedures, minor orthopeadic operations, minor eye sugery, lump removals, caseserans etc. The nurse monitors your pets anaesthetic and recovery. We also have Hamish Denny a specialist orthopaedic surgeon who operates on a Tuesday morning seeing clients from all over the UK.
RADIOGRAPHY
The vets and nurses are both trained in radiography and regularly take x-rays. We also take x-rays for the BVA/Kennel Club hip and elbow scoring scheme.
ULTRASOUND
We have recently purchased a new ultrasound machine which is housed in its own imaging suite. Nicola has a keen interest in cardiology and is progressing her skills in heart scans.
ENDOSCOPY
We have a gastroscope and bronchosope which are invaluable for examining inside your pet without the need to operate.
ECG
We have recently purchased a new ECG machine which is used with our cardiology cases.
DENTISTRY
We regularly carry out dental procedures under anaesthetic and Zoe one of our nurses has just been on a course to help improve our knowledge of dentistry. We carry out major dentals as well as minor de-scale and polishes.
CHEMOTHERAPY
Beckie is head of our oncology services.
LAB
This is managed by Zoe one of nurses in which we run a range of in house tests. These include blood tests, urine tests, skin examinations and more!
EUTHANASIA
This is obviously a distressing time for any owner so here at Green Pastures we try to make it as calm as possible. Appointments must be made and home visits are available, please call for more details.
