Repeat Prescriptions & Written Prescriptions
If your pet has a condition that requires long term medication, such as osteoarthritis or an under active thyroid, the Vet will advise you that they can have a repeat prescription. Typically this means that you will be dispensed a months supply of medication. When this comes to an end you will be able to collect another supply, by advising us that you would like to collect a repeat prescription. We aim to process all repeat prescription requests within 24 hours.
Our governing body requires that we review all patients on long term medications every 6 months. This enables us to check their dose is still correct and address any changes in the progression of their condition. When you consider that 6 months of our life is equivalent to 3.5 years of a dog's life, these check-ups are very necessary indeed.
The frequency of checks depends on your vet’s advice but it is usually every 6 months The charge for a prescrption medication re-examination is £39.00 and can be combined free of charge with a booster vaccination.
You can request these prescriptions by phone – 01934 622022 or online
