Before your pet can undergo any dental work, we need to perform a pre-op blood screen using our onsite laboratory to assess their organ function and blood cell counts. This information will help us provide the proper anaesthesia for your pet and minimise anaesthesia risks.

An IV drip supports your pet's blood pressure and circulation while they are under anaesthesia. It also keeps them hydrated and allows for the quick administration of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories as needed.

Your pet's safety is incredibly important to us. We use Gold Standard Anaesthetic techniques with the safest possible agents. Dedicated Anaesthesia nurses will be at your pet's side, monitoring blood pressure, CO2 levels, temperature, vitals, and more throughout the dental procedure. They will also watch over your pet until they are fully awake and recovered.

Full mouth dental X-rays are an essential tool for diagnosing and treating dental problems concealed under the gum line. Cats in particular often suffer from painful root lesions that can only be detected with X-ray. The price of dental X-rays is included in the overall package cost.

Our vets and nurses carefully record information about all your pet's individual teeth in their medical chart. This information allows us to monitor your pet's ongoing oral health and provide a comprehensive description of their mouth. Dental charting also enables us to examine each tooth carefully for cavities and other problems.

Green Pastures uses high-end dental equipment for cat and dog teeth cleanings. This includes ultrasonic scaling and polishing to remove hardened tartar from your pet's teeth above and below the gum line. Polishing your pet's teeth smooths any abrasions left behind from the scaling and helps to reduce future tartar buildup.

To make sure your pet's mouth is restored to optimal health following their teeth cleaning procedure, we will help you schedule a follow-up 2 days after the dental procedure, and then another in 10 days. These follow-ups allow us to ensure your pet is recovering well from their procedure, and healing (if they needed any extractions).

We will also use your appointment to explain and demonstrate ways you can maintain your pet's healthy smile at home on a regular basis. In addition, we will want to see your pet back within 3 months for a final follow-up, and to answer any remaining questions you have about their dental care.
